We used this company for a recent local move within the San Diego area. The move itself was completed and nothing major was lost, but there were a couple issues that future customers should be aware of.First, our TV frame was bent during the move. I understand that accidents can happen when moving large items. However, how the situation was handled was disappointing. The damage was not brought to our attention by the crew even though it was clearly visible and something we would obviously notice once setting the TV up. When we pointed it out ourselves, it was suggested that the damage may have already existed. As someone representing a company, mistakes happen, but how they are handled matters. Downplaying the issue and not being upfront about it felt like a shady way to deal with the situation. I’ve included photos showing the bent frame, which was not present before the move.Second, the billing structure is hourly, and the clock continues running during downtime. The drive between our old apartment and new apartment is about 15 minutes. While the contract allows for up to 30 minutes of billed driving time, the time billed reflected closer to about an hour between locations. During that time the crew left for lunch while we waited at the new apartment for about an hour for them to return. I wouldn’t have had an issue with them taking a lunch break, but because the clock was still running it effectively meant paying about $175 for that time.Because of the way the TV damage was handled combined with the extended downtime that we were billed for, this is why I’m giving 2 out of 5 stars. My advice to future customers is to inspect items carefully before the crew leaves and keep a close eye on how time is being tracked during the move.
We had an amazing experience with Dominant Moving. We had Mario and Luigi's team. These guys were incredible. So professional, hardworking, super fast, not to mention kind, pleasant and accommodating. They wrapped all of the furniture so well, dismantled and reassembled furniture, placed things exactly where we wanted them and not one item was damaged or broken. Highly recommend Dominant Moving!
I hired Dominant Moving Company for a local apartment move San Diego to La Jolla (UTC). Movers were very carefull and worked fast and efficient beating the estimated time that was provided by person on the phone. All the furniture was properly packed in blankets and plastic, they helped disassemble and reassemble big bunk beds and put all back together.I was able to book the move online which is convenient as well.I highly reccomend Dominant Moving if you are looking for professional, reliable movers in San Diego.
Overall, this was a good moving experience thanks largely to the actual movers. The crew worked extremely hard, moved quickly, and were very professional throughout the day. They carefully disassembled furniture, protected everything well, and reassembled it perfectly at the new house. You could tell they really knew what they were doing and didn’t waste any time. The only downside was that the move was significantly underestimated. I clearly explained that I was moving a 3-bedroom house with a garage, but only three movers were sent, and the truck did not have enough space to fit everything from the garage. Because of this, I ended up having to move the remaining garage items myself, which was frustrating and unexpected. That said, the movers (mario and Luigi’s team) themselves were excellent and did everything within their control to make the move go smoothly. With more accurate estimating and proper truck sizing, this company would easily be a 5-star experience.
I first found Dominant Moving Company online and decided to give them a try for a small one bedroom apartment move. The experience was so smooth and professional that I hired them again just a month later for a much bigger move which was a full service move with packing and two trucks from Oceanside to San Marcos for my parents, who are in their late 70s.Both times, the crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and handled everything with care. For the larger move, they took charge of packing my parents’ belongings and made what could have been a stressful day for them completely stress-free. They were organized, careful with fragile items, and still managed to move everything quickly. What stood out most was their consistency whether it was a smaller job or a major move for my elderly parents, their professionalism and attention to detail were the same. The whole team was friendly, respectful, and clearly experienced, which gave my family peace of mind.I highly recommend Dominant Moving Company for any move, big or small. They’ve earned my trust and will be my go-to movers in the future.
